My Approach
I believe effective, meaningful psychotherapy—whether with individuals or couples—begins with connection: both the internal mind-body-spirit connection, and the therapeutic connection we build together. My relational approach is grounded in attachment theory and informed by the understanding that our earliest relationships impact not only how we think and feel, but how we hold experience in the body.
Traumas—especially relational or developmental—are stored in the nervous system and can show up in the present as chronic tension, emotional reactivity, or disconnection. In our work, we’ll focus on identifying those patterns and gently creating space for new responses—ones that support more freedom, safety, and connection in your life and relationships.
My work blends:
Psychodynamic therapy – to uncover unconscious patterns and attachment wounds
Internal Family Systems (IFS) – to explore the different “parts” of you and how they interact
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) – to help couples shift out of conflict and into secure connection
DBT – for tools to regulate emotions, manage distress, and stay present
EMDR – to help resolve traumatic memories and rewrite stuck narratives
My therapeutic practice is informed by critical race theory as well as queer and feminist theory and grounded in an understanding that as a cis white therapist, cultural humility and anti-racist practice are essential to my work with all clients.
I’m direct, creative, and engaged. I offer empathic listening and validation as well as a challenge when it’s needed and there is space to process. I value transparency, warmth, and humor. My aim is to create a therapeutic environment where it doesn’t feel that things are left unsaid.
