Hi, I’m William

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist based in New York and Connecticut. I earned my Master of Social Work with a specialization in Gender and Sexuality from Hunter College, and completed a two-year trauma therapy training at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy. I am also certified in the practice of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Earlier in my career, I spent several years working directly with both survivors and perpetrators of intimate partner violence and sexual assault. That experience gave me a ground-level understanding of acting-out behaviors that happen in relationships — the cycles, the shame, the unmet needs underneath the behavior. I approach with non-judgmental curiosity, helping clients move through stigma toward self-compassion, understanding, and change. If you're carrying something you're not sure a therapist can handle, I probably can.

As a therapist, I bring my whole self to the room. I draw on a genuine love of storytelling — music, movies, theatre, books, and photography (the photos on this website are some of my own amateur shots!). I also take exercise and time outdoors seriously as tools for emotional regulation, and I weave these into our work when they're relevant to you.

My approach is psychodynamic and attachment-based at its core, integrating EMDR, somatic practices, IFS, and EFT depending on what you need. I work with individuals and couples navigating complex trauma, emotional dysregulation, relationship rupture, LGBTQIA+ experience, and the full complexity of human sexuality.

I’m passionate about what I do, deeply committed to this work, and honored to be trusted with your story. I genuinely enjoy the process—the conversations, insights, challenges, and the moments of humor that make healing possible.
